■ ABOUT THE AUTHOR
     Steve William Laible is an Oregon native son (Ashland) who has traveled the world, now living in the Pacific Northwest (USA). He was a single parent to his three young sons for 15 short years. He now has three grandchildren.  (His favorite, of course, is is first & only granddaughter, Ellie, 8.) Note to grandsons: Suck it up! 😉

     He earned his four college degrees, including his MBA, while on active duty, nights & weekends. With such a demanding career, it took him 12-years!

     He is a military veteran, rising through the ranks (enlisted to officer) and now a Retired Mustang (Captain/USAF) who completed a 22-distinguished career in Aerospace Support; as Superintendent of Publishing, 15AF; 

5-years Joint Services tour of duty with the Air Force, Marines, Army, Navy, on a Marine camp (Camp H. M. Smith) Hawaii, where he directly supported a 4-star flag officer, the Commander-in-Chief, Pacific (CINCPAC) & his immediate flag officer staff, a USAF 3-star general & an Army 2-star general, along with 10,000 colonels, prancing about!;

     Steve was then selected for another Top Secret tour in Washington DC with the Department of Intelligence Agency (DIA), but enroute, it was changed by CINCPAC to a 3-year "by-name" tour with the Joint Chiefs of Staff (JCS) at the Pentagon;

      He was also selected as the first Operations Support Squadron Section Commander, supporting two F-16 Fighter Squadrons in Korea--typically a 12-month "remote" tour,  (without family) but spent 16-months, before retiring, as his three young sons Adam 8, Chase 6, and Kyle 5, missed their daddy very, very much...and Congress had just implemented the mandatory Force Reduction Act. His follow-on Squadron Section Commander assignment to Colorado Springs was canceled...

     Before that, he supported an F-4 (Wild Weasels) Fighter Squadron; Squadron Section Commander, Civil Engineering; Executive Officer (XO) to three Base Commanders; Chief, USAF HONOR GUARD, with White House duties during the ReaganAdministration.

     He was nominated for a White House Fellowship during the Bush/Clinton transition; is a military leadership academy distinguished graduate and first runner-up for the Commadant's Award. (He was beaten by a girl, a girl, I tell ya'.) 😉 

     As Commander, he served as the Red Cross death notification officer in the Republic of Korea; as president, California Parole/Clemency Board,  George AFB...

     He retired from the US Air Force after a 22-year distinguished career, on New Year's Eve (1993) age 40! The world still celebrates his retirement annually with massive firework displays from Australia 🇦🇺 to Singapore 🇸🇬 

In retirement, he was offered but declined a position w/ the Olympic Training Center. 

      He was on another path. 

     He appeared in Reno, Vegas & college campuses as a stand-up comic, with Carrot Top & the amazing comic from Ireland, Cheryl Harris. He had fun wiggling his way backstage into Jay Leno's dressing room. Mavis enjoyed the banter.

     He won gold medals at Seoul's Olympic Park in 1992 (shot put & javelin) all services' meet; named USAF Athlete of the Year (Korea) & invited to join USAF Team, Atlanta Olympic Training Center.

    Unfortunately, his attendance was not approved by the Wolf Pack Commander (Korea) as Steve was considered as essential personnel, if you can believe it,  during ongoing high tension war games and an upcoming Inspector General inspection. 

     Volunteered as an Adult Literacy Tutor.

     During his rich military career, he volunteered as a youth coach, (tackle football, where he earned his first nickname, 'Rookie' after having won the base championship game and named "Rookie Coach of the Year;" girls basketball coach, t-ball coach, etc.);

     He built playgrounds in Wash DC with his Drill Team & Ceremonial Guardsmen; he volunteered with ChildHelp USA, and the Cooper Home, founded by Roy Rogers & Dale Evans;

     Lauded by top Pentagon officials as the "USAF Outstanding Administrator of the Year." Won at least 41 awards, medals & citations, even declining the Bronze Star device for Desert Storm.

     He recently ran as a Dark Horse candidate for the US Congress as a #KeynoteListener

     Is a published author & the founding architect of the Kodel Party vision for a NEW middle-class MAJORITY Agenda (MMA) a new political party, with truer Middle-Class MAJORITY representation for "America the Beautiful" available on Amazon.

      Appeared in Reno, Vegas & college campuses as a stand-up comic, with Carrot Top & the amazing comic from Ireland, Cheryl Harris.

     He then created and wrote the Stevie Tenderheart comic strip, based on his youthful misadventures, which had his late mother terrified! 😁 The strip was published in United States newspapers for five (5) years, until he ended it, to write more!! (Those panels were just too confining!)

     His sense of humor is the special or rather, "secret sauce" sprinkled on the pages of his Stevie Tenderheart book series. He auditions every word before they land on his storytelling pages.

     Speaking of which, the author's  storytelling style makes reading fun and interesting. He eliminated ALL of the distracting redundancies of "He, said, She, said."  The result? Storytelling at its Best!
